What follows is our step-by-step guide on how to upgrade your Black Berry's OS, or install a different version, as well as how to prepare beforehand to make the process run as smoothly as possible.
When you do see the OS, you can download in the background and go about your business until the install is ready.
From there, fire it up and wait it out (it shouldn't take too long) and your device will reboot once the update is compete.

Before you begin, make sure you have the latest Black Berry Desktop Manager (DM) available at RIM’s site: Black Berry Desktop Software – Black Berry Software at Black Now that you have the latest DM we can continue with upgrading your Black Berry OS. Run the DM and select Backup/Restore, then Backup and select where you want the file saved.
The update process takes 30-45 minutes to complete.
